Dreams Are Just Possibilities Waiting to Happen

I’ve always been a dreamer.  I have a vision and passion to see this world filled with love and compassion, I was born to be an instrument of peace.  I know that it is why I am here.  I know my purpose is to help others find their dreams and live their lives full of passion.  I’m here to inspire and be love, I know it with all my heart, mind and soul.

We are all sparks of the Divine; each of us is here to re-present the Divine’s love in a way only we can.  We are unique, no one is exactly like us and can do things exactly as we can.  There is no need for competition or comparison.  We are all divine and perfect the way we are.  There are people out there who need what we came to give.

Henry David Thoreau said, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” So many people live small when they were meant to live such powerful fulfilling lives.

Somewhere inside of each of us a flame burns and when we are not fanning that flame and living lives of love and passion the soul aches with desperation, it needs to fulfill its mission.  When we don’t live our purpose something inside us dies.

Have you taken the time to ask yourself what am I here to contribute?  In the movie, The Dead Poet’s Society Robin Williams’ character shares the line, “The powerful play goes on — and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?”

What makes you light up?  What makes your soul sing?  When is the last time you just daydreamed about the possibilities of your life?

In the song, I Believe I Can Fly R. Kelly says if you believe it you can be it.  Nothing is impossible. We have spent too long listening to the naysayers who say what can’t be done.  What if you just went for it anyway?

In order to discover new lands you have to be willing to lose sight of the shore; imagine if Christopher Columbus let fear of losing sight of the comfort zone of the shore stop him from discovering unknown worlds.

It takes taking a risk to have your biggest life.  You’re worth it.  What do you want your epithet to be?

I recently lost one of my dearest friends.  She was the most enlightened, loving, compassionate and gentle people I have ever met.  She was light and love.  It exuded out of every cell of her body.  You could not be in her presence and not feel her peace, gratefulness and love.

I don’t know about you but that is how I want to be remembered.

I was thinking about fear today and how it is a waste of imagination.  I see so many people settle or shrink back because they listen to fear.  Fear is just and acronym for False Expectations Appearing Real.

What if instead of using your imagination to think of all the things that can go wrong and make yourself terrified, you used your gift of imagination to dream, dream big?

Imagine the possibilities, if you stopped getting in your way and believed you could fly, that anything was possible. Try it out. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If you want something bad enough you will make it happen if not you will make an excuse.  What excuses are you making for not having the fabulous life of your dreams?  What is holding you back?  Money? Fear? Time? Age? Afraid of Failing? No Talent or Skill? Place Excuse ____  Here?

History is replete with countless people who made their fortune or accomplished greatness by shear determination and persistence.

Oprah was demoted for not being fit for television, Einstein did not speak till he was 4 and his teachers said he would never amount to much, Walt Disney was fired from his news paper for “lacking original ideas” and for having “no imagination”, Michael Jordan went home and cried when he was kicked off the high school basketball team, Louise Hay was in her mid forties before she even got started and she didn’t even launch Hay House on a small scale untill her 50’s, Abraham Lincoln was committed for depression and lost countless elections before becoming President of the United States.

The list of comeback stories, stories of people who had nothing and made it to the top is too exhausting and exhaustive to mention.  If you’ve never failed then you’ve never tried anything new.  You have to persist and persevere to have your dream.

The indelible human spirit is amazing.  We challenge ourselves to do things often by choice, sometimes for survival but when we achieve the unachievable the experience is unbelievable.  Without the fear of falling we will never experience the thrill of soaring.  Sometimes you have to have a breakdown before you can have a breakthrough.

We have to learn to push past the fear and the victory on the other side is so sweet it is worth every ounce of pain if we will just hang on one more second.  We give in and give up too easily when are so close.

No excuses

I recently watched the movie Unbroken.  What an inspiring example of what the human spirit is capable of when they believe they can endure.  His brother told him “if you can take it you can make it” and those words kept him going.   There were so many times when he could have given up but he remembered those words and he held on.

We are capable of incredible things.  Everything that is now a reality was once a dream.  The airplane, the car, the computer, clothing, in door plumbing, everything we have and use and everything we are was once a dream.

If your dream is important to you you will find a way, if not, you will find an excuse.  Someone else in worse circumstances than you has made it happen.  Their are people who sacrifice and require more of themselves.

Maybe it will take 10 years or 20 years but when you get there you will have your dream.  The time will pass whether you go for it or not.  So what is it going to be?

Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words.  Go for it.  And don’t stop till you get there.

Remember those people at the top of the mountain didn’t fall there!

My Challenge:  Think about something you have written off as impossible and start reconsidering.  Write a list of what it will take to make it happen.  Even if it will take a thousand steps and 20 years.  A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.  Break it down into steps and make a check list and do something each day towards your goal.

What on Earth am I Here For?

comfortzone1I’ve been thinking a lot about getting back into the swing of things.  I know I’ve not blogged for a while, I’ve missed you, but I am back and ready to stay.  To be honest it was a challenging year.  In one year I was in the hospital 11 times and had 5 surgeries.

I’ve been working polishing up my my book for the official launch September 13th and developing my Living on Purpose program.  I’m healthy and ready to hit the ground running!

I was sent this Nickelback video by my sister and I just love it!  What are you waiting for? Good question.  What is that dream you’ve secretly been holding onto that you’ve wanted to do but have been too stuck in the 9 to 5 grind, going home to the family and finding no time for you to do?  Did you know that just 15 minutes a day can change your life?

I believe everybody has a spark inside of them, a passion, a purpose and a reason for being here.  You are not an accident, you are a unique and special creation.  No one else on earth is just like you and can give the world the gift you were meant to give.

I believe we are a piece of God, Jesus, The Divine, The Universe, The Heart of Creation, Allah, Jehovah, or whatever term you use, it is not the word “water” that makes it wet.  It is like God is the sun and we are rays shooting off the sun.

We each shine and are part of the whole but we are here to shine a special way.  We are here to re-present God’s Love in a way that only we can.  Maybe that’s part of our calling and our purpose.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could support our families doing what we love and are here to do?  Wouldn’t you like to find out what that is?

To get what you’ve never gotten you’re going to have to do what you’ve never done.

I don’t know about you but I am a dreamer, big time!

When was the last time you really dreamed about your future?  When was the last time you took a risk?  When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone and did something you’ve never done before?

What are you waiting for?

I am starting a group, Living on Purpose.  I will be posting more on it in the next couple of days.  So be checking my blog because this group is going to rock and make you stretch outside your comfort zone until you figure out who you are and what on earth you are here for.

My Challenge:  Spend some time just lying there daydreaming.  (It could be night time, in fact star gazing is  a great way to dream when your surrounded by the majesty of the universe and realize how amazing it is and anything is possible)
