“Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive about what could go right.”
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
I love this song, “If I Were Brave” by, Jana Stanfield. I’ve been talking a lot lately about stepping out our comfort zone, dreaming and taking risks. I was thinking about fear this morning.
I’m going to be real. I haven’t got it perfectly all together, I’m a work in progress just like you. I take my Prozac one pill at at time just like everyone else, just kidding. I take my days one day at a time, some are rocking awesome, some mehh. But I learn, I grow.
Yesterday was a growing kinda day. Started strong. Morning rocked. But as the day progressed I kind of lost the wind in my sails and the get up and go had got up and gone. I was thinking about it this morning and I started doing the attributing stressers to why I reacted the way I did dance, ie. I shut down at 3:34 pm because … happened and I felt… excuse____. You know what I mean?
As I examined the day, each time I thought of a reason why my day did not go as planned, I found myself saying to myself that’s just an excuse, you had a choice. Yeah that happened but you could’ve done… and then I thought of a bunch of more positive ways of dealing with the same situation that I could’ve chosen instead that would’ve given me an amazing day. Hind sight being 20/20 and all.
“I have a free will, and there is nothing I need to avoid. I will refrain from using any excuses to justify my avoidance behavior.”
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer
So what does any of this have to do with the quote I gave in the beginning of the blog post. Well I was telling someone today not to focus on the problems but to focus on the solutions.
The real power is there, if you focus on the solution you have something you can DO about it, if you focus on the problem then you just feel bad and who does that help. We have choice, it’s a cool thing!
When you keep talking about your problem you’re anchoring it. When you trust God to take care of it, by letting go and letting God and by focusing on what you can DO you’ll feel EMPOWERED.
And since my blog is about LOVE and EMPOWERMENT it fits in.
You can focus on what is wrong such as so and so did x to me, or I am in this situation, but the truth is the more you focus on the problem the more the problem continues.
If you put as much ENERGY focusing on DOING something different and focusing on what you can do, THE SOLUTION, even if it is hard, even if is scary, even if it seems impossible, then you will create a whole new energy and the Universe will open up possibilities you can’t even imagine.
It’s like you are stuck in a dark tunnel. On the other end there is tiny light. It seems like the light is small and dim and hard to find but it’s your only hope.
You can stand there complaining you’re “stuck” in a dark tunnel and that’s where you’ll stay.
You can focus on the darkness and bounce off the walls.
Or you can focus with all your might on the tiny light no matter how scary it is and you can move towards it one baby step at a time.
What will happen? Eventually you will reach the light.
Hopefully the light is the exit to the tunnel; if not then you may have a whole new challenge to undertake.
Thank God, you’ve discovered what how brave you are and what you are capable of if you persist in your path.
“If one advances confidently in the direction of one’s dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
I love this quote. Pretty much anything by Emerson is gold. It is part of my wake up wall.
When I wake up the side I face has all these pictures and my vision board to remind my intention in the world whether I feel like it that day or not. It helps get me there. I have all kinds of things on love and gratitude and just the word thank you which I have been trying to say first thing when I wake up, work in progress remember.
The point is, this picture pretty much sums it up.
Are you going to be positive or negative?
It is a whole lot easier to be brave when you think you’re going to succeed. If you think you’re not going to fail you will try anything.
I used to walk into interviews after praying and say, “I got this my Daddy owns this place”, me + God = a majority. You can’t fail.
So what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? What would you do if you were brave? Comment below I would love to know.
My Challenge: Choose something that scares you but you’ve always wanted to do and just do it!
And stop focusing on your problems, God’s got this.
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you thing you think you cannot do.”
~ Eleanor Roosevelt
(She also said – I would love to spend a day with her)
