What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

I love this song, “If I Were Brave” by, Jana Stanfield.  I’ve been talking a lot lately about stepping out our comfort zone, dreaming and taking risks.  I was thinking about fear this morning.

I’m going to be real.  I haven’t got it perfectly all together, I’m a work in progress just like you.  I take my Prozac one pill at at time just like everyone else, just kidding. I take my days one day at a time, some are rocking awesome, some mehh.  But I learn, I grow.

Yesterday was a growing kinda day.  Started strong.  Morning rocked. But as the day progressed I kind of lost the wind in my sails and the get up and go had got up and gone.  I was thinking about it this morning and I started doing the attributing stressers to why I reacted the way I did dance, ie. I shut down at 3:34 pm because … happened and I felt… excuse____.  You know what I mean?

As I examined the day, each time I thought of a reason why my day did not go as planned, I found myself saying to myself that’s just an excuse, you had a choice.  Yeah that happened but you could’ve done… and then I thought of a bunch of more positive ways of dealing with the same situation that I could’ve chosen instead that would’ve given me an amazing day.  Hind sight being 20/20 and all.

So what does any of this have to do with the quote I gave in the beginning of the blog post.  Well I was telling someone today not to focus on the problems but to focus on the solutions.

The real power is there, if you focus on the solution you have something you can DO about it, if you focus on the problem then you just feel bad and who does that help. We have choice, it’s a cool thing!

When you keep talking about your problem you’re anchoring it.  When you trust God to take care of it, by letting go and letting God and by focusing on what you can DO you’ll feel EMPOWERED.

And since my blog is about LOVE and EMPOWERMENT it fits in.

You can focus on what is wrong such as so and so did x to me, or I am in this situation, but the truth is the more you focus on the problem the more the problem continues.

If you put as much ENERGY focusing on DOING something different and focusing on what you can do, THE SOLUTION, even if it is hard, even if is scary, even if it seems impossible, then you will create a whole new energy and the Universe will open up possibilities you can’t even imagine.

It’s like you are stuck in a dark tunnel.  On the other end there is  tiny light.  It seems like the light is small and dim and hard to find but it’s your only hope.

You can stand there complaining you’re “stuck” in a dark tunnel and that’s where you’ll stay.

You can focus on the darkness and bounce off the walls.

Or you can focus with all your might on the tiny light no matter how scary it is and you can move towards it one baby step at a time.

What will happen? Eventually you will reach the light.

Hopefully the light is the exit to the tunnel; if not then you may have a whole new challenge to undertake.

I love this quote.  Pretty much anything by Emerson is gold.  It is part of my wake up wall.

When I wake up the side I face has all these pictures and my vision board to remind my intention in the world whether I feel like it that day or not.  It helps get me there.  I have all kinds of things on love and gratitude and just the word thank you which I have been trying to say first thing when I wake up, work in progress remember.

The point is, this picture pretty much sums it up.

Are you going to be positive or negative?

It is a whole lot easier to be brave when you think you’re going to succeed.  If you think you’re not going to fail you will try anything.

I used to walk into interviews after praying and say, “I got this my Daddy owns this place”, me + God = a majority.  You can’t fail.

So what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?  What would you do if you were brave?  Comment below I would love to know.

My Challenge: Choose something that scares you but you’ve always wanted to do and just do it!

If you want something bad enough you will make it happen if not you will make an excuse.  What excuses are you making for not having the fabulous life of your dreams?  What is holding you back?  Money? Fear? Time? Age? Afraid of Failing? No Talent or Skill? Place Excuse ____  Here?

History is replete with countless people who made their fortune or accomplished greatness by shear determination and persistence.

Oprah was demoted for not being fit for television, Einstein did not speak till he was 4 and his teachers said he would never amount to much, Walt Disney was fired from his news paper for “lacking original ideas” and for having “no imagination”, Michael Jordan went home and cried when he was kicked off the high school basketball team, Louise Hay was in her mid forties before she even got started and she didn’t even launch Hay House on a small scale untill her 50’s, Abraham Lincoln was committed for depression and lost countless elections before becoming President of the United States.

The list of comeback stories, stories of people who had nothing and made it to the top is too exhausting and exhaustive to mention.  If you’ve never failed then you’ve never tried anything new.  You have to persist and persevere to have your dream.

The indelible human spirit is amazing.  We challenge ourselves to do things often by choice, sometimes for survival but when we achieve the unachievable the experience is unbelievable.  Without the fear of falling we will never experience the thrill of soaring.  Sometimes you have to have a breakdown before you can have a breakthrough.

We have to learn to push past the fear and the victory on the other side is so sweet it is worth every ounce of pain if we will just hang on one more second.  We give in and give up too easily when are so close.

No excuses

I recently watched the movie Unbroken.  What an inspiring example of what the human spirit is capable of when they believe they can endure.  His brother told him “if you can take it you can make it” and those words kept him going.   There were so many times when he could have given up but he remembered those words and he held on.

We are capable of incredible things.  Everything that is now a reality was once a dream.  The airplane, the car, the computer, clothing, in door plumbing, everything we have and use and everything we are was once a dream.

If your dream is important to you you will find a way, if not, you will find an excuse.  Someone else in worse circumstances than you has made it happen.  Their are people who sacrifice and require more of themselves.

Maybe it will take 10 years or 20 years but when you get there you will have your dream.  The time will pass whether you go for it or not.  So what is it going to be?

Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words.  Go for it.  And don’t stop till you get there.

Remember those people at the top of the mountain didn’t fall there!

My Challenge:  Think about something you have written off as impossible and start reconsidering.  Write a list of what it will take to make it happen.  Even if it will take a thousand steps and 20 years.  A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.  Break it down into steps and make a check list and do something each day towards your goal.

comfortzone1I’ve been thinking a lot about getting back into the swing of things.  I know I’ve not blogged for a while, I’ve missed you, but I am back and ready to stay.  To be honest it was a challenging year.  In one year I was in the hospital 11 times and had 5 surgeries.

I’ve been working polishing up my my book for the official launch September 13th and developing my Living on Purpose program.  I’m healthy and ready to hit the ground running!

I was sent this Nickelback video by my sister and I just love it!  What are you waiting for? Good question.  What is that dream you’ve secretly been holding onto that you’ve wanted to do but have been too stuck in the 9 to 5 grind, going home to the family and finding no time for you to do?  Did you know that just 15 minutes a day can change your life?

I believe everybody has a spark inside of them, a passion, a purpose and a reason for being here.  You are not an accident, you are a unique and special creation.  No one else on earth is just like you and can give the world the gift you were meant to give.

I believe we are a piece of God, Jesus, The Divine, The Universe, The Heart of Creation, Allah, Jehovah, or whatever term you use, it is not the word “water” that makes it wet.  It is like God is the sun and we are rays shooting off the sun.

We each shine and are part of the whole but we are here to shine a special way.  We are here to re-present God’s Love in a way that only we can.  Maybe that’s part of our calling and our purpose.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could support our families doing what we love and are here to do?  Wouldn’t you like to find out what that is?

To get what you’ve never gotten you’re going to have to do what you’ve never done.

I don’t know about you but I am a dreamer, big time!

When was the last time you really dreamed about your future?  When was the last time you took a risk?  When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone and did something you’ve never done before?

What are you waiting for?

I am starting a group, Living on Purpose.  I will be posting more on it in the next couple of days.  So be checking my blog because this group is going to rock and make you stretch outside your comfort zone until you figure out who you are and what on earth you are here for.

My Challenge:  Spend some time just lying there daydreaming.  (It could be night time, in fact star gazing is  a great way to dream when your surrounded by the majesty of the universe and realize how amazing it is and anything is possible)

Are You Asleep At the Wheel?

Today I was thinking about growing up. I just turned 50 and it seems like it is time I start acting like a “grown up”. I have found that I have fallen into my old patterns of behavior, back into the abyss of dysfunction. I woke up and realized I was stuck because I was at such a low vibration. I was riddled with guilt, shame and embarrassment. On the David Hawkins’ scale of vibrations that is a low as you can vibrate.

How could I be here again? I wrote the book on living an empowered, enlightened and loving life. I know better. I was living my highest life. I was actually there; I am still that woman who wrote that book. Everything I wrote was truth when I wrote it. I just need to get back to living it. I’ve proven I am capable of it, it is the true me. I just need to let go of the ego that was pulling me down. As Wayne Dyer says, “the ego stands for Edging God Out”. All the junk life has thrown at me that I let take me off my spiritual path. I can choose to start to live differently today. I am not defined by my past even if my past was yesterday. Each day is a clean slate. “Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of your past or a pioneer of the future.” ~ Deepak Chopra

The last year I have been so sick I just shut down. I have been living unconsciously. I choose to live a conscious, present and aware life. As Jim Rohn says, “Change happens instantaneously, it is the decision to change that takes forever.” The great thing is today is a new day. I choose to change. Done.

I got up tapped on my feelings and let go of all the negative energy and started to re-frame. First of all I am letting go of this “grown up” thing. I am instead choosing to be the empowered woman that I am, living my authentic life fully conscious, and making aware deliberate choices from my highest self that create my best life. I am raising my vibration.

I did two guided meditations that I love and had a couple of epiphanies. First, I have been dealing with conflicts with two people in my life. I realized that the things that I have hated in them are just reflections of the parts of me that need to change the most.

The Universe will put people in our lives to mirror the things in ourselves we need to learn. Often they are magnified versions so we can see how ugly that quality is, and then if we look within and recognize how we too possess that quality and become aware, convicted and then we can change. We will keep attracting the same people to ourselves until we get it. Learn the lesson and you will attract different people.

I started to see a list of things that I was judging and complaining about that were there looking right back at me in the mirror (including judging and complaining). I decided it was time to take the plank out of my own eye and heal myself.

Second, I realized that I already have everything I need to accomplish what I want to do. I just need to take conscious action one step at a time. I need to stay connected to God because without being plugged into the source of all power I am powerless and with him there is nothing that I cannot do. I need to stay awake.

My Challenge:
Look at the people in your life who bug you, what about them bothers you. Ask yourself and others the hard questions, how is that in you? How are they mirroring back what you need to change? Then make a decision and change.

I am glad I ate that frog today


Procrastination is attitude’s natural assassin. There’s nothing so fatiguing as an uncompleted task.

Today I did something that I have been putting off for a long time and it was so empowering and life changing.  I cannot tell you how grateful I am that I took that step.  I decided that I needed to make some changes and I took the first leap even though it was hard and scary and hurt it was worth it.
